Information we collect

How we use information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for behavioural or targeted advertising, and we do not share it with third-party advertising networks.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run MineEx. They are independent companies, not owned or controlled by us, and they receive personal information only as reasonably necessary to perform services for us, subject to the terms that apply between us and them.

AI processing

MineEx uses third-party AI services to produce company summaries and to structure public company information such as press releases and website content into a consistent format.

What is sent to those services is company and news material — public disclosure, press releases and company-supplied profile content — not your account details. Private messages between investors and companies are not sent to any AI provider.

AI-generated summaries can contain errors or omit information. They are not a substitute for a company's original disclosure. See our Terms of Use.

Processing outside Canada

We are based in British Columbia, Canada. Some of the providers above process or store information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information processed in another country may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access requests by courts, law enforcement and government authorities there.

Consent and your choices

When you provide information for a particular purpose — creating an account, sending a message, submitting an inquiry — you authorize us to use it for that purpose, as described in this policy and as permitted by applicable law.

You can withdraw your consent, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide a feature or service that depends on the information — for example, we cannot deliver a message to a company without sending it to them.

Submitting a contact or sales inquiry lets us respond to that inquiry and correspond with you about MineEx products and services. It does not, on its own, sign you up for unrelated marketing campaigns.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy — to provide the service, meet our legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security and enforce our agreements.

You can delete your account from the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account), or by following our account deletion instructions, which removes your profile and your messages from the live service. Deleting your account may not immediately remove information from routine system backups, and it does not remove information we are required or permitted by law to retain. Where a company has already received your message by email, that copy is in their hands and is governed by their own practices.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Access to user data in our database is restricted by per-user security rules.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Access, correction and deletion

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, ask questions about this policy, or make a privacy complaint. Contact support@mineex.ca. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Privacy Officer and complaints

Privacy questions, requests and complaints can be directed to:

We will review privacy concerns and respond in accordance with applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

MineEx is not designed or intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in circumstances that would require parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information in those circumstances, contact support@mineex.ca and we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Eligibility to use MineEx is set out in our Terms of Use.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, give notice in the app or on our website. If we want to use personal information we already hold for a materially new purpose, we will seek any additional consent that applicable law requires.
